Kyaukgyi 25 August

Due to the torrential downpours in Kyaukgyi Township, Taungoo District, Bago Region, the water level in a creek in the township increased and water entered into the low-lying areas in the township. Therefore, the households in the flood affected areas were relocated to safety place this morning.

A total of 78 people from 15 households were evacuated to their relatives and nearby monasteries, according to Township General Administration Department.

The water level of Sittaung River at the township has reached 1100 centimeters and its danger mark is 1170 centimeters.
