School-based vaccination campaign to prevent students from diphtheria, tetanus and cervical cancer was conducted at seven Basic Education Schools in the town of Gangaw, Magway Region at 8:00 am on 6 December.

Under the supervision of Dr. Kyaw Kyaw Lwin, Acting head of Gangaw District Department of Public Health, healthcare workers led by U Tun Zaw Lin, head of the Township Department of Public Health administered the diphtheria, tetanus and cervical cancer vaccines to students in line with health guidelines.

Under this vaccination program, a total of 396 students aged 5 to 7 received diphtheria and tetanus vaccines while 141 students aged 9 to 10 received the Human Papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine.

Dr. Kyaw Kyaw Lwin, Acting head of Gangaw District Department of Public Health and members, Daw Nan San San Htway, Chairperson of the Township Maternal and Child Welfare Association and members, heads of Basic Education Schools and teachers looked round the event.—Maung Myo Min (IPRD)
