15 October

The Htamsan cave in Hopong Township, Pa’O Self-administered zone, southern Shan State has attracted a large crowd of visitors, who are flocking to the spot with family and friends, during the Thadingyut holidays, which started on 11 October and end on 15 October.

“I have come from Hsihseng Township with my family in order to pay my respects at the pagodas for the Thadingyut vacation,” said a visitor.

Most visitors are taking photos and exploring the cave. Monks residing at the Htamsan cave monastery usually serve vegetarian lunches to pilgrims, and most visitors leave after lunch. Meanwhile, the Hopong dam is also crowded with visitors interested in swimming and other recreational activities during the holiday.
