The International Buddhist Education Centre (IBEC) in Sagaing hills is actively working towards creating educational and job opportunities for Myanmar nationals in Japan, as stated by the monastery.

 

IBEC, founded by Vener­able Agga Maha Saddhamma Jotikadhaja Dr Ashin Sobhita, a recipient of the Stockholm Peace Prize, known as IBEC Sayadaw, is taking significant steps in this initiative.

 

At the invitation of Project Professor and Research Fellow Senior Member of IEEE Dr. Shouji Usuda, the IBEC and KBU education team, led by Principal Dr Ashin Sobhita, conducted a study tour to Hosei University in Iriya City. The Sayadaw has been actively working to bridge the high-level education sector between Myanmar and Japan, as reported by IBEC-Myanmar Official Information Office Com­mittee.

 

The IBEC and KBU edu­cation team also visited OISCA Senior High School, including OISCA Academy and Agricultural College in Hamamatsu, discuss­ing collaboration matters in the education sector.

 

The meeting included repre­sentatives from both sides, such as OISCA Principal Mr Nakano Yoichiro, Head of International Student Affairs Department Mr Hihara Morohito, and Interna­tional Relations Officer Mr Na­kamura Katsutoshi from the Japanese side, and Principal Dr Ashin Sobhita, General Manager U Bo Bo Lin, Managing Director Daw May Nyo from New Dana Company, Japan-based Research Associate U Thein Htike, IBEC IT Technician, and BOD members of KBU from the IBEC side.

 

Discussions encompassed various aspects, including the further study of Myanmar stu­dents at the undergraduate lev­el in Japan, Japanese language learning, and the creation of more and better job opportunities for Myanmar youth in Japan. — Thit Taw/ZN
