A PERSONAL interview with foreigners whose applications for permanent residency were reviewed and approved by Implementation Central Committee (ICC) for Permanent Residency (PR) was held in Ministry of Labour, Immigration and Population meeting hall in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday morning.

The event was attended by Chairman of ICC for PR Union Minister for Labour, Immigration and Population U Thein Swe, ICC for PR members and officials.

Prior to the personal interview Chairman of ICC for PR Union Minister U Thein Swe met with officials conducting the personal interview and explained about the types and granting of permanent residencies and urged all to suggest on whether to permit or not the people who were being interviewed.

Next, an official explained about the personal interview process and ICC for PR Chairman and members conducted personal interviews.

Since the work process of allowing permanent residency was started in 29 January 2015 to date, a total of 480 out 598 applicants for permanent residency were being granted permission for permanent residency and relevant documents and cards were issued.

In the day’s interview 27 persons whose applications for permanent residency was reviewed and approved by ICC for Permanent Residency were interviewed and when approved, submissions will be made to relevant upper levels and relevant documents and cards will be issued it is learnt. — MNA (Translated by Zaw Min)
