A ceremony to issue identity (ID) cards to local people was held at No. 2 Internal Displaced Persons (IDPs) camp in Sitshaung Village tract in Chiphwe Township, Myitkyina District, Kachin State yesterday.

The collective granting of ID cards to local people was jointly conducted by staff from the Township Department of Immigration and Population and village administrator of Sitshaung village tract.

Staff from the township Department of Immigration and Population issued identity cards to local people from Jitlaing, Phala, Mandung, Zannaungyan, Nalaw, Byawlui, Yohchaung, Yitjaw, Lawkhaung villages in the township in accordance with the rules released by Ministry of Health and Sports amid the outbreak of COVID pandemic.

Staff from Department of Immigration and Population also handed out facial masks to local people free of charge. —Zin Mar Win, IPRD
