Wawlaymyaing, 30 January
With the guidance of Kayin State Government, a ceremony to issue identity cards (ID) to local people was held at General Administration Department in the town of Wawlaymyaing, Myawaddy District, Kayin State from January 28-29.
The collective granting of ID cards to local people was jointly conducted by the Township Department of Immigration and Population and Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC).
Officials from the township Department of Immigration and Population issued identity cards to a total of 225 local people including 121 girls and 104 boys free of charge in the town.—Naing Myo Thein, IPRD
