A ceremony to present Ks. 236.684 million contributed by the Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement, Ministry of Border Affairs, Chin State Government and well-wishers to displaced people took place in conjunction with a meeting with local people at Kimo Hall of the General Administration Department in Paletwa Township, Chin State on 27 July.
In his address, Chin State Minister for Municipal Affairs, Electricity and Industry U Soe Htet said that the visit is aimed at undertaking development tasks such as rule of law, education, health and transportation for displaced people and flood victims in the township. The minister was briefed about provision of relief supplies to IDPs, flood victims and implementation of development tasks and construction of Kaladan River crossing bridge by the township administrator and in-charge engineer.
Next, the minister and concerned officials presented Ks. 236.684 million in which Ks. 84.661 million was provided by the Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement, Ks. 83.92 million was furnished by the Ministry of Border Affairs, Ks. 30 million was contributed by the Chin State Government and Ks. 38.104 million was donated by well-wishers— and relief items such as rice, cooking oil, iodine salt, and clothing to the IDPs and flood victims and encouraged them.—IPRD
