Officials from the Department of Disaster Management under the Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement furnished the displaced people from temporary rescue camps in MraukU Township, Rakhine State with rice.

The displaced persons are currently taking refuge at the temporary relief camps after being forced to leave their homes due to clashes in MraukU and Minbya Townships. Staff from the Department of Disaster Management provided 242 rice bags to 807 displaced people from 268 households at the rescue camps.

They are now taking shelter at six temporary relief camps being opened at the monasteries in Minbya Township.
