Forest authorities seized a truck loaded with illegal teaks near Pauktaw village in Saw township, Gangaw district in the early morning of 23rd January.
Upon the information received, staff from the township Forest Department together with local police and community leaders found and searched a white six-wheeled truck parked by the side of the road near Pauktaw village.
The search resulted in the discovery of 61 illegal sawn teaks weighing 2.7938 tons on the truck.
The head of Saw Township Forest Department pressed criminal charges against a driver and two followers for carrying illegal teaks at the local police station.—Zaw Myo Thant (Saw)
