Forest personnel seized illegal timbers from a stationary tugboat near Greatwallweima Industry Port in Maunggone Village, Htigyaing Township, Katha District, Sagaing Region yesterday.

Acting on a tip-off, the forest personnel led by U Than Nyunt from Katha District Forest Department and police members from Htigyaing and Maungone police outposts together with witnesses searched a stationary tugboat near Greatwallweima Industry Port in Maunggone Village at yesterday afternoon and seized illegal teak timbers and other hardwood in the tugboat with a man, identified as U Phyo Wai.

The authorities filed charges against U Phyo Wai under the Forest Law.—Lu Aung (Katha)
