The Department of Rural Health under the Ministry of Health and Sports will conduct mass vaccination campaign to prevent women from cervical cancer in Shanywathit sub-Township, Hpa-an District, Kayin State.

 

The vaccination campaign will target girls between 9 and 10 years old in the town. Medical staff from Rural Health Department will inject 271 girls between 9 and 10 years old from villages and wards in Shanywathit sub-Township with human papillomavirus (HPV) immunization against cervical cancer, according to Daw Naw Aye Aye Cho from Rural Health Department.

 

The mass vaccination campaign would be carried out free of charge in September this year in Shanywathit sub-Township, Kayin State.—Zin Lay, IPRD
