On  behalf  of  the  Indian  gov-ernment, the Embassy of India in Yangon handed over 10,000 vials of Anti-Rabies Vaccines to Ministry of Health and Sports on 7th October in Yangon.

Deputy  Chief  of  Mission  Dr  Sumit  Seth  presented  the  vaccines  Dr  Zaw  Than  Htun,  Director  General  of  the  De-partment of Medical Research of the ministry.

The  aim  of  the  donation  was to provide support to the Government  of  Myanmar  for  its fight against Rabies and to showcase  the  strength  of  In-dia’s pharmaceutical industry in manufacturing high quality vaccines  at  a  highly  compet-itive  price,  according  to  the  Indian Embassy.  

The  ceremony  started  with  the  opening  remarks  by  Dr  Sumit  Seth,  followed  by  the  words  of  appreciation  by  the  director-general  Dr  Zaw  Than  Htun  presented  the  certificates  of  honour  to  Dr  Seth.
