India reported 842 new cases of COVID-19 on Friday, taking the total tally to 44,664,810 in the South Asian country.

According to federal health ministry data released on Friday morning, with the reporting of fresh cases, India's active caseload currently stands at 12,752.

The country also logged six related deaths during the past 24 hours, bringing the overall death toll to 530,520 since the beginning of the pandemic, the ministry said.

The ministry said 44,121,538 COVID-19 patients have been cured and discharged from hospitals in India, of whom 1,271 were discharged during the past 24 hours.

According to the health ministry, the cumulative COVID-19 vaccination coverage in the country has exceeded 2 billion doses and until Friday morning 2,197,793,278 doses were administered.

A cumulative total of 902,551,893 samples have been tested for COVID-19 up to Nov. 10, the health ministry said.
