Meanwhile, the Congress Party has placed top priority on tackling unemployment and assisting farmers.

 

Party leader Rahul Gandhi criticized Modi, saying unemployment is the most serious issue at the moment.

Multiple polls by local media suggest Modi's Bharatiya Janata Party , which currently has a parliamentary majority, will lose some seats in the election.

Voting will take place in seven stages, ending on May 19.
