Indonesia government constructed a station hospital in Myaung Bwe Village of MraukU Township for all the communities in Rakhine State.
The documents of the hospital were handed over to the Ministry of Health and Sports in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.
At the ceremony, Indonesian Ambassador to Myanmar Professor Dr Iza Fadri first extended greetings and made wishes for stronger diplomatic relations which have entered the 70th anniversary and bilateral cooperation between the two countries. A responsible person for Medical Emergency Rescue Committee explained about donation of the hospital. Union Minister Dr Myint Htwe witnessed the signing of documents between the Ambassador and Deputy Director-General Dr Thida Hla from the Department of Medical Services.
In the closing remark, the Union Minister expressed thanks for the donation of hospital as it reflects a sign of friendly relations between Myanmar and Indonesia.
He added the station hospital could provide healthcare services to over 30,000 local people from nearby 23 villages, and it will be developed into a modal station hospital in Rakhine State. The Union Minister also said the ministry is giving medical treatments across the country without discrimination against race or religion in line with medical ethics.
The Ministry of Health and Sports has recently signed an MoU with its Indonesian counterpart for cooperation in medical services, public health, medicines and medical equipment, human resource development and research.
Indonesian government donated US$1.25 million for construction of Myaung Bwe Station Hospital in MraukU Township. The construction works led by Indonesian engineers started in 2017. The two-storey main building was completed in October this year. The facility has been installed with power supply, underground water tank and landscape in the compound.
