Construction of an indoor stadium’s floor and a stand in the compound of Aung San Thuyira Hla Thaung Sport Ground in Kungyangon Township, Yangon Region is about 75 percent completed.
    

The tasks are being carried out by the Sports and Physical Education Department with K 150 million allotted in the current fiscal year. The indoor stadium floor is 120 ft. in length, 60 ft. in width and the stand measures 90 ft. in length and 12 ft. in width. Once completion, it will house about 500 spectators and host sport events such as Badminton, Volleyball, Sepaktakaw, Futsal and sports training courses will be conducted there.
    

The purpose of upgrading the indoor stadium and stand is to produce outstanding athletes representing the township, said an official from the SPED.—Tun Tun Soe (IPRD)
