A ceremony to open informal primary education program in Ayeyawady Region was held at No-1 Basic Education High School in Pathein, Ayeyawady Region this morning.

On the occasion, Ayeyawady Chief Minister U Hla Moe Aung and Dr. Tin Nyo form Myanmar Literary Support Department gave remarks.

Officials from the Department of Alternative Education and Life Long Learning and Regional Education Office clarified the processes that are being undertaken. Then the regional administrator presented assignment to township administrators who will supervise informal primary education program that will be launched in their townships.

In addition, the officials gave prizes to those who passed the matriculation examination from the non-formal primary education program. Then they observed the documents relating to the implementation of informal primary education program, according to Pathein District Information and Public Relations Department.
