A new information centre under construction for investors and local and foreign travellers visiting Sagaing Region, said U Aung Thu Oo, head of the regional Directorate of Hotels and Tourism. The centre will be located in the compound of the office of the regional Directorate of Hotels and Tourism.

“The information centre will regularly distribute pamphlets and provide technical assistance to local and foreign travellers. Currently, officials are negotiating with computer software experts to provide technological information to enable receipt of information via mobile phones and tablets. Moreover, the information center would provide information to travellers wanting to know more about Sagaing Region,” said U Aung Thu Oo.

The information centre is being constructed with allocations from the Sagaing Region Hotels and Tourism Development Fund. The centre would be 40 feet in length and 50 feet in width. The construction of the centre began in the third week of December. Currently, the construction is 10 per cent complete, and it is expected to be finished within the 2019-2020 financial year.—Win Oo (Zayyartine)
