An informative talk about dengue fever and influenza virus was held at the congregation hall of Kyakhatgone village in Kyaikmaraw Township, Mon state yesterday afternoon with an opening speech by Kayin ethnic affairs minister Saw Aung Myint Khaing of Mon state government. 

 


The talk was intended to raise awareness among local people of dengue fever and influenza which are common in rainy season. Assistant Director Dr. Sithu Ye Naung of Mon state anti-malaria department talked about the cause of influenza. He said that influenza virus is a highly infectious virus and people can catch influenza virus from mosquito bites like dengue fever. He said that although influenza virus is very infectious, it is not a life-threatening virus, dealing with the symptoms of the influenza virus. Then, he answered questions raised by the attendees.
