An informative talk about sesame production, jointly organized by Sagaing Region Agriculture and Myanmar Edible Oil Millers Association, was held at a library in Chatkalay village, Butalin Township yesterday afternoon.

 

First, U Tun Tun Oo, vice chairman of the association explained the situation about edible oil production and its market, followed by a talk about sesame production by agriculturalist U Than Tun. Afterwards, Daw Min Min Than from the region agriculture department dealt with sesame species while U Nyi Nyi from Armo Co explained the distribution of insecticides and fertilizers in the region. Then, Daw Cho Cho, head of the township agriculture department stressed the need for systematic use of fertilizers and good quality seeds to boost crop production.

 

Responsible persons from Armo Co gave out hats, vests and handouts to local farmers who attended the talk. —Han Tun (Innwa)
