Mongyawng, 23 January

With the aim of raising awareness on scourge of drugs, informative talk was conducted at No. (7) Basic Education Primary School in the town of Mongyawng, eastern Shan State at 2:00 pm on January 22.

First of all, an official from the Township Drug and Psychotropic Substances Prevention and Control Group explained the purposes of the talks. Afterwards, responsible officials discussed the scourge of drugs and detailed the disadvantages of narcotic drugs, offences and penalties for drug cases and preventive measures against drugs.

Afterwards, attendees viewed round educational brochures, photos and books on the scourge of drugs displayed by personnel from the Township Information and Public Relations Department in the school.—Tun Myint Hlaing(IPRD)
