Pwintphyu, 11 May

The construction work of a gravel road linking Zee Gaing village with Kyaung Daw Yar village in Pwintphyu township, Magway region has been completed by 95 percent, according to the township Rural Development Department.

The road measuring seven furlongs in length was formerly an earthen road mainly used for agriculture activities by local people in the two villages. Local people faced difficulties with the road because there were full of muds on the road in rainy seasons, delaying their activities. The township rural development department spent K 20 million on the gravel road construction project.

The gravel road which has a width of 18 ft. will enable local people in the two villages to send their agricultural products to markets without difficulty, according to Daw Mi Mi Lwin, an official from the RDD.—Ye Win Naing (Nyaung Oo)
