Inter-village road opened in Pa-O Self-Administered Zone

A four-mile-long concrete inter-village road was opened in Pinlaung Township, Pa-O Self-Administered Zone in Shan State (South) on 13 December.


Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Union Minister for Border Affairs Lt-Gen Ye Aung said his ministry spent Ks 136 million in building the four-mile inter-village road in Nongpi village-tract, and added that the concrete road will benefit over 3000 residents of ten villages in the area.


Chief Minister of Shan State Dr Lin Htut extended greetings and Chairman of the Leading Body of the zone U Khun San Lwin and a local representative spoke words of thanks.


Commander of Eastern Command Maj-Gen Lin Aung, cabinet members of Shan State government, senior military officers, MPs, departmental personnel and natives also attended the ceremony.


The Union Minister and party also looked into the requirements of the completed and ongoing rural development projects the ministry is implementing with its budget in southern Shan State.


At the youth development school for ethnic races of border areas in Hsihseng Township, the Union Minister fulfilled the needs after hearing the report presented by the principal.
