Sponsored by Mese Township Forestry Department, International Day of Forests which falls on 21 March was held by at the Mese General Administration Office, Mese, Kayah State this morning with the aims of promoting the forest sector.

At the event, Mese Township Administrator U Myo Thant delivered an opening remark and Head of the Township Forestry Department U Sai Than Nyunt clarified the history of International Day of Forests, prevention of the forests, reduction of deforestation and others. Also present on the occasion were departmental personnel, the administrators of wards and villages and local residents. –Wutyee (IPRD)
