The International Translation Day 2019 took place at the headquarters of News and Periodicals Enterprise on Theinpyu Road in Yangon yesterday morning.

The event at the Shwe U Daung Hall was organized by the Peak Point Academy, the translation and language society, with the participation of the Myanmar Translation Network and the Yangon Translation Society.

U Mo Lwin, the managing director of Peak Point Academy, extended greetings at the event and Saya U Hein Latt talked about the history of International Translation Day.

Moderated by Daw Yadana, the manager of Academy, the dialogue was participated by the renowned translators Hein Latt, Ye Mya Lwin, Taw Kaung Min and Dinovo on the topics of technical terms, transliterations, loanwords and skills in original language.

The annual International Translation Day has been held for the third year in the country since the Myanmar Translation Network was established in 2017.
