The International Women’s Day for 2019 was commemorated at a monastery in Ohnpin Village, Dadeye Township, Ayeyawady Region yesterday morning.

At the ceremony, Assistant Director of the Department of Social Welfare under the Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement U Aye Kyaw read out the message marking the International Women’s Day sent by the UN Secretary-General. 

Next, the Secretary of the district women’s affairs association Daw Soe Soe Yi explained the purpose of the event and Township Administrator U Htet Myat Aung gave a concluding remark.

Also present on the occasion were members of the district/township women’s affairs associations, village officials and residents.—IPRD
