Hlaingbwe 7 March

The ceremony of the eve of International Women’s Day which falls on 8 March was held at the meeting hall of the General Administration Department of Hlaingbwe, Kayin State this morning.

The event was opened with Kayin traditional “Don dance”, and U Nay Lin, deputy staff officer of Haingbwe GAD delivered an opening speech. Next, Daw Nin Nin Wai, head of Tawin Thazin Women’s Association gave a welcoming speech, and Nan Ma La Win, secretary of the Women’s Association explained about the emergence of International Women’s Day.

Afterwards, they discussed about the participation of women in peace process, women rights, law, and the ceremony came to an end with the traditional song, a question and answer session and the presentation of gifts.—Township IPRD
