A ceremony to remark International Women’s Day organized by Tilin Township Rural Development Department under the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation took place at the hall of Htalin village, Tilin Township, Magway Region this morning.
At the event, Tilin Township Administrator Theak Dee clarified the main objectives of holding International Women’s Day and Chairman of Tilin Township Women’s Affairs Committee Daw Khet Khet Aung explained about the history of International Women’s Day.
Next, Head of Tilin Township Community Driven Project U Kyaw Zay Ya explained about the violence against women. Head of Tilin Township Planning of Community Driven Project Office U Aye Min Tun and the staffs clarified the Conference Elimination of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW) which was held in China and the display of wall papers to the departmental officials, the members from Htalin Village Community Driven Committee and social organizations.
Also present on the occasion were 178 people together with Project committee members from 89 villages of Tilin Township. –Yee Win Naing (Nyaung-U)
