International flights connecting Japan and the Middle East are being affected by the US-Israeli strikes on Iran and the country's retaliatory attacks.

Japan Airlines has announced plans to suspend its flights connecting Tokyo's Haneda Airport and Doha, Qatar, till March 15.

JAL had initially decided to cancel its Tokyo-Doha route till Sunday. But it announced on Wednesday that it will extend its suspension of flights departing Haneda till March 14 and flights departing Doha till the following day.

The announcement comes as Qatari airspace remained closed as of 6:30 UTC on Wednesday.

Qatar Airways has suspended all its flights, including those to and from Narita Airport near Tokyo and Doha, and those to and from Kansai International Airport in Osaka, western Japan.

The Qatari flag carrier says it will update its latest flight schedule by 6:00 UTC on Friday.

Likewise, Etihad Airways, based in the United Arab Emirates, has canceled all its flights till 10:00 UTC on Thursday.

Emirates flights from UAE to and from Haneda, Narita and Kansai will likely remain canceled on Thursday.
