The signing ceremony for Exchange of Notes on rendering assistance to Myanmar by Japan was held at the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Economic Relations, Nay Pyi Taw.
The ceremony was attended by Union Minister for Investment and Foreign Economic Relations U ThaungTun, Deputy Minister for Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation U HlaKyaw,Deputy Minister for Transport and Communications U TharOo,Deputy Minister for Planning and Finance U Set Aung,Permanent Secretaries and Director-Generalsof the Ministries concerned and Japanese Ambassador to Myanmar Mr. Ichiro MARUYAMA and officials of the Japan Embassy.
Two Exchange of Notes were signed by Deputy Minister U Set Aung and Japanese Ambassador Mr. Ichiro MARUYAMA. According to the Notes,the Japanese Government will provide grants of Yen 444 million for the Provision of Agricultural Machinery and Construction Equipment in Rural AreasProject and Yen 2828 million for the Improvement of Aircraft Surveillance System Project in Myanmar.
These grants will contribute to the further development of transportation and agriculture sectors in Myanmar and the enhancement of Japan-Myanmar bilateral relations.
