BAGAN-NYAUNGU, the cultural heritage zone of Myanmar, is hosting large numbers of tourists and pilgrims.

Buu Pagoda, one of the nation’s famous historical pagodas in Bagan, is crowded with throngs of visitors, especially in the evening.

Buu Pagoda usually receives large numbers of travelers to view the sunset, and most travelers ride sunset boat cruises along Ayeyarwaddy River to enjoy scenic views of Bagan. Therefore, crowds of visitors and boats can be seen around Buu Pagoda every evening, where boat drivers can earn K20,000 per round trip.

International travelers enjoy the sunset, and they also take pictures of sunset by riding sunset boat cruises on Ayyarwaddy River. Many visitors thronged to Tant Kyi Taung pagoda by boat, allowing drivers to earn well in Bagan. Nevertheless, they have to serve a small number of visitors during June and July due to high tides and strong winds, said U Maung Toe, a boat owner. — Ko Htain (Ngathauk) (Translated by La Wonn)
