MEETING 62/2019 of the Joint Committee on Amending the 2008 Constitution was held at Pyidaungsu Hluttaw Building D in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday morning.

The meeting was attended by Chairman of the Joint Committee Pyidaungsu Hluttaw Deputy Speaker Pyithu Hluttaw Deputy Speaker U Tun Aung (a) U Tun Tun Hein, Deputy Chairman of the Joint Committee Amyotha Hluttaw Deputy Speaker U Aye Tha Aung, Joint Committee secretary Dr Myat Nyana Soe, joint secretary U Htay Win Aung (a) U Pyone Cho and members who were Hluttaw representatives from political parties and Tatmadaw Hluttaw representative and officials from Pyidaungsu Hluttaw Office.

The meetings of Joint Committee on Amending the 2008 Constitution so far had covered suggestions and comments from Preamble of the Constitution up to Chapter V Executive. It was now covering suggestions and comments on Chapter VI Judiciary.

The Joint Committee was holding its meetings on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays while the Hluttaw was in session. While the Hluttaw was in recess, it holds meetings during the ten days after the Hluttaw went into recess and ten days prior to the resumption of the next Hluttaw session.
