Agri-loans are being disbursed to farmers in Pinlaebu Township, Sagaing Region based on the kinds of farmland starting on 18 May.

 

In the township, there are a total of 266 villages and 52 village-tracts and a total of 4531 farmers in 32 village-tracts were disbursed K 28,615 million of agri-loans for their 18627 acres of farmland at a rate of K 150,000 per acre of farmland. The monsoon agri-loans are being dispensed in line with the instructions of the Ministry of Health and Sports. Farmers in other remaining villages will be distributed agri-loans not later than the end of July.  A total of K 5,700 million of agri-loans will be disbursed to farmers in the township, according to Bank Manager of Myanma Agricultural Development Bank (Branch) U Myint Maung Than.

 

The impacts of COVID-19 pandemic will affect Myanmar’s agricultural sector. Therefore, farmers who abide by the rules and regulations of the Bank will be disbursed K 50,000 of additional agri-loans per acre of farmland as a special COVID-19 Relief-Loan in line with the policy of the government.
