The Kayah State COVID-19 Containment and Emergency Response Committee distributed the instructed five household supplies of rice, cooking oil, lentils, salt and onions starting from yesterday. According to a survey by the Kayah State government, Loikaw Township has the highest number of people with no regular incomes and Mingalar Ward in Loikaw Township received the supplies on 10 April first.
Kayah State Chief Minister U L Phaung Sho, the state ministers for security and border affairs, city development and social affairs, and officials arrived at the Mingalar Ward Administrator’s Office. They looked around the office and handed over the supplies to the people.
The Kayah State government’s survey found that there are 6,831 households in Loikaw Township without regular income, 5,741 households in Demawso Township, 1,173 in Furuso Township, 224 households in Shartaw Township, 478 households in Bawlake Township, 1,083 households in Parsaung Township, and 971 households in Maese Township.
In total, there are 16,521 households in Kayah State without regular income and 5506.8 bags of rice, 8260.5 viss of cooking oil, 8260.5 viss of salt, 16521 viss of onions and 16521 viss of lentis will be distributed to them.—Tun Lay (IPRD)
