Accompanied by concerned officials, the Chief Minister of Kayin State Daw Nang Khin Htwe Myint inspected construction of the New Jai-Kawkareik Bridge on the East-West Economic Corridor Improvement Project on 1 June.
The chief minister was briefed about progress of the construction project which is an important communication route in the Kayin State by in-charge engineer and concerned officials. The chief minister gave instructions to officials from the construction site to finish the project on a timely manner and meet the set standard.
The bridge is of a reinforced concrete type and measures 1903 ft. in length and 74 ft. in width (four-lane). The RC suspension facility is being built with loans from the Japan International Cooperation Agency.—Saw Myo Min Thein (IPRD)
