Hlaingbwe, 19 December
Kayin Youth Network organized a nationwide Kayin youth gathering ceremony at a monastery in the village of Mae Sameik in Hlaingbwe Township, Kayin state yesterday.
First, presiding monk of Mae Sameik monastery Baddantaa Sandara, Lieutenant Colonel Saw Kyar In, Pado Saw Hla Tun, associate secretary of KNU central executive cut a ceremonial ribbon to unveil the arch of the pavilion. Then, Sa Ayar Win, one of Kayin youths from Myanmar’s southernmost region of Tannthayi extended greetings before Monk Baddanta Sandara, Monk Baddanta Sandawara, Pado Saw Hla Tun, Pado Saw Ku Ku, Saw Kyaw Swa and Colonel Kyaw Than Htay spoke words of encouragement. Afterwards, Pado Saw Hla Tun explained the situation of ongoing peace efforts. Kayin youths from the towns of Myawady, Pha Pun, Kama Maung, Kawkareik, Kyar-in Seik Gyi, Hlaingbwe, Paing Kyone, Thandaung as well as from the regions of Yangon, Bago, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi and upper Myanmar attended the ceremony.
They held group discussions about the youth activities in their towns and regions.—Khin San Myint(IPRD)
