Acting on the information that some KTVs/night clubs in Yangon still open despite the COVID-19 outbreak, Yangon Region police officers inspected the LAX KTV on Saya San Road, Sasana Yeiktha Ward, Bahan Township, Yangon and the Privacy KTV on Pyidaungsu Road, Ward 45, Dagon Myothit (North) Township, Yangon on 2 September night.

The work committee of the National-Level Central Committee on Prevention, Control and Treatment of COVID-19 has ordered all KTVs/night clubs to close during the COVID-19 crisis. Police found that the two KTVs opened at that night. So, the two owners and the two managers of the KTVs have been charged under section 30 (A) of the Natural Disaster Management Law for violation of the order of the work committee. Another COVID-19 related news said that 647 people (618 men and 29 women) in Yangon Region were arrested on 2 September and charged under section 188 of the Penal Code for violation of 12:00-4:00 am curfew.
