THE Myanmar Embassy in Japan announced on 17 December that applications are open for the Kubota Fund scholarships for 2025-2026, which will provide 80,000 to 100,000 yen per month.
The Managing Committee of the Kubota Fund has notified the embassy about it and they will select 12 successful individuals, and the stipend will range from 80,000 yen to 100,000 yen per month from April 2025 to March 2026.
Engineering researchers, interns, and students from developing countries who are working or studying in private businesses, research institutions, and universities in Japan are eligible for this scholarship.
Applicants must be citizens, or born and raised in a developing country, employed by a business in Japan, or officially registered with a research/education/training institution, or are doing a course in civil engineering, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, agricultural engineering, environmental engineering, energy engineering, architecture, development and economics among others, as a student, researcher or intending to conduct research. Applicants must be able to reside in Japan during the grant period, except for travelling abroad for research, attending international conferences, and temporarily visiting their home country. They must submit a letter of recommendation from a supervisor from the institution where they are working.
