Myanmar authorities have seized 52 kg of methamphetamine worth over K 1 billion in Pyigyidagun Township in Mandalay Region, according to the Myanmar Police Force.
Acting on a tip-off, the Mandalay Region police force searched a Mark II vehicle driven by Hein Htet Aung at the corner of 115 and 65 roads in Pyigyidagun Township at about 4:00 on December 19 and confiscated 52 kg of methamphetamine worth K over 1 billion.
As a result of investigation, a drug dealer, identified as Mah Nan Shwe Lu was arrested at the corner of Yangon-Mandaaly Road and Yanaung Mingalar road in Dagundaing Ward in the Township at about 5:00 pm on the same day.
The seized drugs are being transported from Shan State to Yangon Region, according to the investigation. The suspect was charged under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law and further investigations were underway.—MNA
