Kyaukse 21 February
Arrangements are being made to transform Kyaukse into a zero-waste city starting on 19 February, according to the Township Development Committee.
A coordination meeting on developing Kyaukse into a zero-waste city was held at the hall of the township Development Committee on 19 February. After the meeting, ward administrators received trash garbage trucks, drivers and staff, said U Khin Maung Myint, chairman of the township Development committee.
“Steps are being taken to develop Kyaukse to a waste-free city with the cooperation of locals and ward administrators. Each of a populated ward was facilitated with a garbage truck and two small wards with a truck under the supervision of ward administrator” he added.
The project which was planned in 2016 met with failure due to lack of garbage trucks and staff. This year witnessed the fulfillment of necessary requirements for the project, he reiterated.
Now, eight garbage trucks are collecting trash in 10 wards in Kyaukse. With other garbage trucks to be arrived at the end of February, one ward will have one truck.
