The Township Agriculture Department has reported that oilseed crops are being expanded in Kyaukse Township, Kyaukse District of Mandalay Region. As of now, 15,711 acres of winter oilseed crops have been planted.
For the cultivation of winter oilseed crops, 297 acres of peanuts were initially planned, but local farmers have already planted 299 acres, surpassing the target by two acres. Additionally, 5,135 acres of sesame crops were designated for planting, but farmers planted 5,138 acres, exceeding the target by three acres. Similarly, 10,273 acres of sunflowers were earmarked for planting, and 10,274 acres were planted, exceeding the target by one acre, according to the Township Agriculture Department.
The Township Agriculture Department is working with relevant departments and farmers to expand the cultivation of oilseed crops, ensure a sufficient oilseed supply in the region, and provide regular access to water for cultivation.
