Kyunhla Township, located in Kanbalu District, Sagaing Region, has completed the planting of various crops for the winter season, covering a total of 60,896 acres, according to the Township Agriculture Department.

“Despite favorable rainfall in the region, the initial target for the winter crop planting season was set at 57,336 acres. However, we have surpassed this target by 3,500 acres, reaching a total of 60,896 acres planted so far. We are working closely with local farmers to explore the use of stream and groundwater sources for irrigation,” said Daw Myint Myint Yi, staff officer of the Township Agriculture Department.

For the 2024-2025 planting season, Kyunhla Township has cultivated 60,896 acres of winter crops, which include 21,906 acres of pulses and beans, 35,272 acres of oilseeds, nine acres of vegetables, and 3,709 acres of other crops, the department reported.-- Myo Win Nyo (Kyunhla)
