Farmers in Kyunhla Township of Sagaing Region are mainly engaged in agricultural business. In this year’s winter crops growing season, farmers in the Township has finished cultivation of over 43,000 acres of varieties of crops, according to the Township Agriculture Department.
The Township Agriculture Department has designated to grow over 57336 acres of varieties of crops including 166 acres of summer paddy, 19,793 acres of bean varieties, 34,864 acres of oilseed crops, eight acres of vegetable crops and 2505 acres of other types of crops this cold season.
"In this year's cold season, 57336 (76.20%) acres of varieties of crops have been targeted to plant in the entire Township and as of now, 43688 acres of varieties of crops have been already cultivated,” said Daw Myint Myint Yee, head of the Township Department of Agriculture. “Now, relevant officials from Department of Agriculture are imparting knowledge on agricultural sector to farmers,’’ she added.
So far, a total of 43,688 acres of winter crops including 120,809 acres of bean varieties, 30,176 acres of oilseed crops and 1432 acres of other types of crops have been already planted this cold season in the Township, according to the Township Department of Agriculture.—Myo Win Nyo(Kyunhla)
