Land, crop compensation offered to farmers in Yedashe Township

A ceremony to present land compensation to farmers whose farmlands were confiscated when an approach to the Sittoung River crossing bridge on Yedashe-Kayinchaung Road was built at the office of General Administration Department in Yedashe Township, Bago Region.

First, Regional Chief Minister U Win Thein delivered an opening speech. Next, the chief minister, regional lawmaker U Aye Min Win, the director from the Department of Road U Zaw Tun and Deputy Commissioner U Moe Htet presented land and crop compensation to the farmers and one of the farmers spoke words of thanks. 17.37 acres of land on the Toungoo side and 21.11 acres of land on the Yedashe side belonging to 66 farmers were confiscated when the bridge project started.

A total of Ks. 165.5395 million of land and crop compensation was given to farmers for their 38.47 acres of confiscated farmland during the ceremony.—Hein Htet (Bago)
