Acting on a tip-off, a combined team, including members of the Anti-Drug Police Force, stopped and searched a motorbike driven by Mah Soe Soe near Nanhsi Aung Village in Mohnyin Township, Kachin State, at 8:45 a.m. on 8 February. During the search, police seized 6.2 kg of raw opium worth K 7.44 million.

In a similar incident, the team searched a motorcycle driven by Zaw Htaike on the bypass in Saykham Ward, Tachilek Township, Shan State, at 3:00 p.m. on 9 February, confiscating 4,000 stimulant pills. Following this, a combined team raided the house of Zaw Htaike in Saykham Ward, Tachilek, at 3:30 p.m. on the same day, seizing an additional 6,000 stimulant pills worth K 4.00 million.

Additionally, the team raided the house of Myo Aung on the bypass in Yang Aung Mye Ward, Tachilek, at 4:30 p.m. on 9 February, confiscating 230,000 stimulant tablets worth K 9.2 million.

The culprits have been prosecuted under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law, according to the Myanmar Police Force.—MNA
