Authorities seized 5.9 lakh of stimulant tablets worth Ks. 295.0 million in Lashio Township, Shan State (North) on July 17.

Acting on a tip-off, a combined team consisting of members of the Anti-Narcotic Drug Squad searched a vehicle driven by Sai Li with Gan Fan on board in Ward-2 in the Town of Lashio on July 17 at about 9:00 pm and seized Ks. 295.0 million worth of stimulant tablets in the car.

After making some interrogations, Mah Sai Khawn and Mah Mar Khawn were arrested along with a motorbike and Ks. 36.5 million in ward-2 in the town of Lashio at about 10:00 pm in the same night.

The offenders have been prosecuted under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law and further investigations were underway.—MNA
