A ceremony to wrap up a rubber latex collecting course was held at the training hall of Tachilek District Agriculture Department in Tachilek district, Shan state (east) yesterday afternoon. 

At the event, U Hla Win, head of the district agriculture department said that most of rubber growers in eastern Shan state have been using traditional cultivation methods and unsystematic latex collecting. As a result, rubber growers receive a low yield and incurred losses every year. He urged the trainees to use latex collecting methods taught in the course in order to receive a high yield and become successful farmers. Then, officials gave certificates to the trainees. 

A total of 40 rubber growers attended the course that started on August 13.—Phyo Lay (Tachilek)
