Katha, 26 April
The Lower House MP U Myint Kyi, Regional Lawmaker U Nyi Nyi Thun and officials from the Department of Rural Development inspected the completion of a rural road in Metlin Chaung Village in Katha Township, Sagaing Region on 25 April.
The rural road is of an earthen type and measures 2.2 mile long, 12 ft. wide, and includes a box culvert. The road was built by a tender wining private company and finalized the project in mid-April.
Majority of residents in the village rely on cultivating sugarcane, paddy and groundnuts on around 1,000 acres of their farmlands. Now they will be able to use the road in all seasons conveniently.—Ye Aung (Katha)
