A discussion between lawmakers from Kayin State parliament and representatives from local civil society organizations took place at Khwe Ka Baung Hotel in Hpa-an City at 9 a.m. today.

The event is aimed at seeking effective cooperation from local civil society organizations to help the Kayin State parliament’s functions and the legislator’s obligations. At the ceremony, Speaker of the Kayin State parliament U Saw Chit Khin extended greetings and secretary of the Kayin State CSOs Network U Saw Kyaw Swa explained the purpose of the talk. The attendees discussed a wide range of topics including legislative sector, capacity enhancement for staff from the Kayin State parliament, news distribution matters, and budget issues.
